MODALITIES:
-
Basic Reflexology
massage
based around a system of points in the hands and feet thought to correspond, or
"reflex," to all areas of the body.
-
Deep (Hot) Stone Therapy
utilizing heated stones to
soften tight muscles, trigger points, and soothe chronic muscle pain while
lessening discomfort during therapy. Also used with Swedish relaxation
massage to de-stress and relax with the added warmth from smooth stones being
pressed against the skin.
-
Deep Tissue Massage
directed specifically to individual muscle fibers. Its purpose is to un-stick
the fibers of a muscle while releasing deeply-held patterns of tension, removing
toxins, relaxing, soothing and thereby re-educating, as well as encouraging the
muscle to operate at full capacity. It is both corrective and therapeutic.
-
Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques identifies and
corrects chronic strain patterns before they become pain patterns, systematic
realigning of neck and back structures.
-
Pregnancy Massage
Relaxation and therapeutic techniques applied to client while
in specific positioning to accommodate the various stages of pregnancy.
Normally massage is done with client lying on their side in a comfortable
and bolstered position. Massage is geared to the chronic muscle areas
pregnancy usually affects. Massage Therapy has a positive affect on
lessening the discomfort that the muscles are experiencing due to the body's
changes during pregnancy.
-
Some Myofascial Release
is
a form of bodywork that is manipulative in nature and seeks to rebalance the
body by releasing tension in the fascia. Long, stretching strokes are utilized
to release muscular tension.
-
Sports Massage massage
therapy focusing on muscle systems relevant to a particular sport.
Assessment of the body's deviation from neutral posture as it relates to the
musculoskeletal system. Therapy aimed at improving range of motion,
decreasing movement restrictions, and decreasing or eliminating muscle pain.
Sports Massage is results oriented to improve performance. Experienced
for
Golf and Tennis, and running.
-
Swedish Relaxation Massage
a system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more
superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of
the joints.
